Not an “alien”: How international students land U.S. jobs, and how you can help

When

4:30 to 6 p.m., March 23, 2021

Finding a job in the U.S. as an international student is challenging. In addition to standing out as a competitive candidate, international students also have to deal with the challenge of their visa status. And they often handle the stress alone.

Bob Liu, UX Designer from University of Arizona Libraries, will be sharing his own stories so that you know where to find support or how to support.

Marie Willard, Associate Director at UA International Student Services, and Brittney Crawford, Program Manager at UA Student Engagement & Career Development, will also share their tips for international students.

This is a kick-off to UX@UA's special series on representation and inclusion in the UX and the broader tech industry. The 3-part series will be offered in spring, summer, and fall.

Come and hear the talk, meet new friends, and learn what UX@UA has to offer. Newcomers are always welcome, and you don’t need to be part of the University of Arizona to attend.
